... are the inspiration of Jacqueline Zanders.
The workshop is in a cottage in the woods near Muradup, in the great Southern region of Western Australia.
Jacqueline began her craft business here in 1999.
Only Pure New Wool Felt and other natural materials are used.

This two days or weekend workshop provides the pleasure of creating these lovely garden fairies or wildflowers nymphs.
These creatures love to inhabit the flower arrangements on your table and become valuable heirlooms.
The workshop group may pre-select one fairy from the cottage garden:
- Forget Me Not,
- Sweet Pea,
- Nasturtium,
- Hollyhocks
Or from the bush:
- Qualeup Bell,
- Rosella.
All materials are provided.
Please bring a plate of little somethings to share for an evening supper.
(The Agnome to Zednome of Gnomes)
Gnomes for all occasions can be made without previous needle skills.
It is fun to make these fellows who prefer to become a useful member of the household, or school classroom. You may leave and notes with them so that they can take care of security and other tasks.
Smaller “Comfort” gnomes usually reside with their owner’s mother and only accompany the child on special occasions. For example their birthday and hospital visiting.
It is absolutely essential that a gnome’s body is made from an old cotton T shirt (usually a well loved out-grown one), previously worn by the person for whom it is made. Earth colours are preferred.
All materials are provided.
This two-day workshop develops the skills to make a larger Alphanome. His smaller mates can then be made at home afterwards.
The picture shows three larger alphanomes above and some comfort gnomes below.
Other alphanomes to be made include the following varieties:
- Common ,
- Garden ,
- Boat ,
- Bush ,
- Underground ,
- Seaside ,
- Aerial ,
- House ,
- School ,
- Shop ,
- Maternity

You can quickly learn to make your own shed people in just 3 hours! An ideal doll making starter for busy mums. Kids can do this at a special TOM THUMB birthday party.

The oldest way to create a non woven fabric.

Romney and Marino wool are used to create garments and footwear which are shaped around you.

Lots of three dimensional toys like gnomes and animals can also be made.

A doll especially made by you for a child. It will be a long time companion for the child – a source of comfort and trust.

The energy that you give to make this all natural hand made doll will linger around that doll for a long time to the benefit of the child.
A newly born baby gets a doll that looks like a soft handkerchief. It is made from flannel or silk with a wool insert.
Touch is the most important sense for the baby, so it is in need of soft colours and materials.
When the child starts to sit up and play with the things in its crib, it is time to make a new doll!
At this age, the child is most interested in touching and hand to mouth coordination is important, so the doll has texture rather than detailed visual appearance.
The child now starts to throw the doll away and wants it back! This is time for you to make a pop-up doll.
An actual baby size doll is made for the child who gets a new sibling. It is dressed with the kid’s own baby clothes.
It should be given the moment the new baby arrives home.
Enjoy the touch and visual delight of the soft multicoloured wool.
It is easy to make wool “beings” with just a pipe cleaner and tufts of pure wool.
A good way to loosen up those not so supple fingers, hands and wrists.
Allow for a two hour session.
All materials are provided.
All prices are Per Person.
